Happy Father's Day

Usually this is about all things Grace and what she is up to and how she is doing. But today is a little more about the male figures in our lives- our Dads. Growing up was fun with my father. I remember being his wing man on a moped in Bermuda when I was maybe 4 or 5 and "helping" him with some yard work. I put that in quotations because I am not sure how much I really helped. I just loved spending time with him. He always made me feel special. I remember a lot of things we did together when I was a kid. I think about it a lot now since he has passed and yes, I still get choked up. Its just not fair he is gone and can't spend time with me and his grand daughter- but life isn't fair and we go on.

Scott and Grace have a special bond. He loves her like no body's business and she has the same love for him. They have a lot of fun kicking around on their Tuesdays together. When they are up her her playroom rough housing I can hear her squeals of joy coming through the floor- as I sit and work at my PC. Makes me jealous.
There is just something special about a Dad and daughter- that kind of love is just so special you can't even describe it.
So to all Dad's out there- Happy Father's Day. To all of you children- tell your Dad you love 'em and appreciate them!

June 6 2007- The day we had been waiting for

On June 6th 2007 we received the most anticipated call of our lives. It was referral day- OUR referral day. Our turn had finally come! On the other end of the phone was our agency calling to tell us we had a little girl waiting for us in Chongqing China. Little Miss Qian Li Hui- born September 20th 2006. Healthy and just the cutest little baby I had ever seen, and she was OURS!!
Heaven help the UPS man who delivered our referral info and more pictures the next day- he was running late and didn't show up until late in the afternoon. I ran up to him and practically ripped the package out of his hands and ran back to the house shouting-"its the folder on our baby girl!" He looked at me like I was nuts- well I was then and still am to this day.
Time has flown by and we are inching up on our 1 year mark of getting Grace. I am listing her referral picture and how she looks today. Such a change. She is still healthy and now we know how happy she is. Of course she is still the cutest little girl I have ever seen!
