Christmas Morning
Grace actually slept until after 7am so Scott and I were able to get up and get ready for the day. I know this will probably the last time this happens as she is understanding a little more what presents are. We didn't make a big deal of the holiday with her because I am not a huge fan of the whole Santa Claus thing. I understand she needs to know who "he" (it?) is because as she gets older all of the other kids will be buzzing about his arrival.
It was a Hello Kitty kind of a Christmas for her. She is crazy about that kitty! So we loaded her up on a doll, cd player and assorted items. Unfortunately I wrapped her gifts in some nice quality heavier paper and she gave up on trying to open presents and handed them to me and said "too hard" - so Mom helped with ripping things a little so she could grab and edge. Scott gave Grace a Radio Flyer Tricycle that is styled like a Vespa. Its pink all over and has directionals a horn and tunes. Watch out people- she'll be on a roll in the spring! She does know how to pedal already too.
We have had about 6-7 snow storms since the 18th of December and were unsure if we'd be able to get out for dinner. Ray and Sherry were having the festivities at their place and ended up losing power a few hours before and we moved everything to Scott's aunt and uncles house. The State of WA does not plow very much here so you can only imagine what the drive was like. Grace and I were stuck in the house with each other for over a week. I think we were both happy to see other people. Now the rain as come and has melted everything. That's how the weather is here in Seattle! Snow one day and its gone with the rain the next.
All in all we had a really good Holiday. The weather just put a damper on everything. But now that it has all past and the decorations are put away life can go on as normal. (or as close to that as possible w/ a 2 year old)
